This morning I woke up feeling like Rocky, although I’ll pass on drinking raw eggs. It was a long trip here, and I was pretty out of it the first day. I don’t think it was the elevation as much as the lack of sleep. No, it was definitely the elevation. I just woke up feeling grateful for all the great bike people I meet everywhere I go. I was fortunate enough to land a place to stay with some very cool people. They volunteered to have me in their home without ever having met me, which I’m still blown away by. I was telling my friend @MeekSkel about their generosity and without hesitation he said, “I find that it doesn’t matter what kind of bike they ride. There’s something special about people with a passion for pedaling.” Bike folks, solid people. We’ve got a pretty nice living room collection of bikes over here. Let the adventure begin.
“I’m so afraid. Because I’m so profoundly happy. Happiness like this is frightening… They only let you this happy if they’re preparing to take something from you.” -Khaled Hosseini, The Kite Runner
