The North American Cycle Courier Championships came to a close in Minneapolis today with the finals. The top 60 riders from yesterday’s qualifiers sprinted to their bikes to kick it off (video) this morning and had 3 hours to do work son.
Trouble at the ABUS checkpoint again, for those failing to affix their bicycle to a fixed object anyway. Security WILL take your bike, you know this. You’ll be left searching for your bike in the bushes (video).
Other checkpoints were getting slammed in waves as many riders were picking up and dropping off multiple packages at once (video). Knowing the importance of patience and providing polite service, this rider waits patiently for his turn (video).

As they came speeding through, periodic odors of weed and beer were wafting toward me. Others were dehydrated and begging for water and without thinking I dished out the 4 bottles I had on me and went to resupply.
Deeper into the course, riders encountered a stretch of half gravel half grass with patches of sand along the way. This terrain bounced a few loose packages right out of overstuffed bags causing some to lose time picking them up.
Congratulations to champs Austin Horse and Christina Peck! You have to be fast as well as intelligent to pull it off against this serious competition. Check the official site for results. Everyone did great and I had a wonderful time following you around Minneapolis. Can I annoyingly follow you with my camera again when NACCC hits Denver in 2015?
